Boii Theatre is a collective of international artists from a number of backgrounds such as theatre, opera, contemporary music, physical theatre and circus. We are interested in new writing in theatre as well as new plays in translation.
Boii Theatre works with contemporary Czech playwrights such as Arnošt Goldflam or Marek Horoščák.
We focus on the contingent translation which emerges within the rehearsal room with the translator involved directly as a dramaturg, rather than as a solely literary figure.
This summer, Boii Theatre proudly presents its first multiauthored project, 'The Moonflower'. This contemporary opera was conceived in collaboration between the Brazilian composer, Mario Ferraro, and the librettist Eva Daníčková. The opera will feature a multitude of artists from a variety of disciplines such as circus, design and video art in a fusion of disciplines.
