Maja Milatović-Ovadia is a freelance theatre director. During her career she has worked in Serbia, Slovenia,
Montenegro and the UK.
She completed an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice at The Central School of Speech and
Drama. Prior to that, she graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts at the University of
Arts in Belgrade (Serbia) with an honours degree in Theatre and Radio Directing.
Recent productions include: Woman Bomb by Ivana Sajkjo (Tristan Bates Theatre, JaM
production); Red, Black and Ignorant by Edward Bond (The Cock Tavern Theatre, London);
La Serva Padrona by J. B. Pergolesi (St George Strings Opera Production, Serbia), Tatchell
by Jonathan Bonfiglio (Old Fire Station, Oxford)
Other credits include: Product Medea 4.0 (The Cock Tavern Theatre, London), Gagarin's Way
by Gregory Burke (BITEF Theatre, Belgrade); Pedalo by Nenad Velickovic (Blue Elephant
Theatre, London); Bukefal by Bosko Puletic (National Theatre, Belgrade); The Lover by
Harold Pinter (GLEJ Theatre, Ljubljana); Fall on Betl by Milica Piletic (National Theatre,
Montenegro); Kafka’s Dick by Alan Bennett (National Theatre, Belgrade).
She was associate director of NADA (New Writing Project) at the National Theatre in
Belgrade and associate director at Blue Elephant Theatre for the Balkan Season. She is a
recipient of A.G. Leventis Foundation scholarship and a Hugo Klein award.
Maja has joined Boii Theatre as an Associate Director in July 2011.
