The Boii Theatre Company, founded by Eva Daníčková, is a collective of artists from a variety of backgrounds from performance to classical music and opera. Boii uses new and translated text as a starting point of the experimental devising process, which fuses a number of different disciplines to create a new aesthetic on stage, stretching the text to the limits but staying true to its core.

VÁCLAV HAVEL
Boii Theatre would like to express a deep sorrow and sincere condolences to the family
and friends of Václav Havel, a former dissident, playwright, essayist, author of Charter 77,
leader of the Velvet Revolution in 1989 and the first post-communist president of democratic
Czechoslovakia. He died on 18.12.2011 at the age of 75.
Havel was and remains an inspiration for many. His ideas and commitment to non-violent
resistance, democracy and freedom, as well as his unique dramatic style, will forever be
embedded in the consciousness of Boii Theatre and its work.
"For the real question is whether the 'brighter future' is really always so distant. What if, on the contrary, it has been here for a long time already, and only our own blindness and weakness has prevented us from seeing it around us and within us, and kept us from developing it?"
- (V.Havel, Power of the Powerless, 1978)
